Füssen!!!!!!! And Munich.

First city is Füssen. The cutest town so far! Very small and quaint. We showed up late on the first day because the travel from Freiburg took forever. Once we got to the city our B&B was hoste was not there so we sat at a caffe for Frits and beer. Eventually our host showed up and we were able to check in. It was a very interesting place. It was her home with he husband and kids and we rented a room on the top floor. Great view from the window!

After we checked in we decided to wait and see the castles in the morning so we just spent the afternoon walking around the city. It was beautiful. The city is nestled in the foot of mountains with a white river running though the center.

Not a bad place to spend the day the strolling around. That night we sat at a Greek restaurant and watched Germany play again. They won! It was super exciting. The only problem was that for about 2-3 hours after the game, every car that was in the town drove around laying on their horn!
The next morning we woke up early and caught the bus up the mountain to see the Castle Neuschwanstein. It is the castle that sleeping beauty based its castle on. Is was huge and nestled in the side of a mountain.

Wonderful morning! After the castle, we hoped on a train to head to Munich. It took us until about 3 together to Munch. When we arrived we headed to our hotel. It is a nice hotel but its location is um...... Not the best. There are some interesting "businesses" of entertainment located along our street. It makes for a very entertaining walk home!
The first day in Munich we walked around old town and sat and did a lot off people watching. We also visited the Olympic village from 1972. Where we took an elevator to the top of a 300 meter tower.

That night we found a restaurant to watch Spain and France play. We ended up siting next to three women from Austria. We all had a really good conversation about the similarities and differences of our cultures. It was a really great conversation.
This morning we slept In a bit And then visited a few places in old town, including the hofbrauhous! It is the famous beer garden here!

Mmmmmmmm that was some good beer! After that we headed to a giant park see some playgrounds and some other sights. We got to see surfers surfing an endless wave In the river.

Then we headed to the Chinese tower (another beer garden). Huge pretzels, huge beer mugs and German music.....life is good!

After all the beer I needed a nap so we headed back tothe hotel for a catnap then we headed back out to a restaurant for dinner and to watch England play Italy. I have to say, I have really grown to like football aka soccer! I will have to watch the finals when I get home.

Well I am in bed finishing my last blog from Germany. I am torn between wanting to go home for some much need rest and not wanting this adventure to be over! It has been a great trip and I feel so lessee to have had the opportunity to be here. Celeste has been a great travel buddy and we have become good friends through our travels. The trip went so smoothly and I have seen some amazing sights and met some amazing people. Thank you all for following along with my blog. It has been nice knowing people are reading and are cheering me on through my travels.
As usual thanks for reading and I will hopefully have a new travel blog soon!

Hello black forest!

So the last day in Nuremberg was awesome! We went to a zoo way out of town. It was the best zoo I have ever been to in my life! The habitats were huge and they mixed animals in the habitats. There were times that monkeys were crawling over your head while you looked at a lagoon with a manatee.

After the zoo we walked around the town a bit and got some food and then headed back to the hostel for an early night. Getting up at 430 tomorrow! Night night.

Next day

All I can say about today is WOW!!!!! We woke up vary early to head to Freiburg. Were on a train at 530am. We got to Freiburg at around 11. We dropped our bags off and caught a tram then a bus to a small area about the town where we hoped on a gondola. The gondola took about 20 min and was 3500 meters long. The views from the top were amazing!

After we got to the top we grabbed some lunch. It was the only meal I have had that was not good :( but thats ok because the view was amazing. After lunch we met a father daughter pair from Tennessee. The day was super excited and very talkative (we got along great). We walked with them up to a tower on the hill we could climb and get a 360 view of the forest. It was breathtaking at the top!

After we walked around a bit we headed back to the gondola to make the trip back to town. In the evening we walked around old town and got a great view of the sights until it started pouring down rain! We walked a bit in the rain and found a South American bar to watch the Portugal football match.

Now it is time for bed. We are heading to Füssen tomorrow early! We are excited because is has the castle Neuschwanstein which is the Castle Disney modeled sleeping beauty's castle!

Good night and thanks for reading.

Fun then rest

Well I spent yesterday being a bum. I was not feeling well and really just wanted to rest. We did a little sight seeing and eating and then just chilled out for the day. We woke up early the next day and caught a bus then a train to Nuremberg. We arrived at about 12 and dropped off our stuff and headed out to see the sights.

Nuremberg has a very different feel than Heidelberg. It feels more medieval. The churches and buildings are beautiful. The is a castle at the top of old town that was very fun to wander around.

View from the castle tower

We also stopped by a market in the square and I bought and ate the best strawberries I have ever eaten!

After the full afternoon of sight seeing we headed back to the hostel and relaxed in the common room for a little bit. We ended up chatting with a group of 7 British people and we all ended up hanging out the rest of the night. We watched the football game in the square and then headed out for a few drinks.

We woke up today and headed to a senses playground. The park had a huge area for kids to play and use their senses. Very cool play area! Later today we are going to a zoo and then to a museum about the war trials that happened here.

Thanks for reading.

Keeps getting better and better

Wow!!!!!!! Heidelberg is Beautiful!

We left our hotel this morning at 730 and traveled by train all day untill about 230. It was a long travel day. We finally got to Heidelberg and had to ride the bus like sardines to old town. Went to find our hotel and what do you know, it is at the base of the castle!!!!

This photo is takin out of the window of our hostel!

Out the other window.

Our building is the one to the right of the yellow building. Not to shabby.

After we got settled into the hostel we headed out for a very late lunch we quickly realized that every street here is amazing. It is like being on a movie set.

Lunch time in the plaza.

BIG NEWS! Ok folks listen up, I have news. I have really been thinking about this a lot the last 10 days and have realized that be being vegan is really messing up my travels because I can't eat much of anything and it makes me look like an ass hole when I order. So I have decided that when I am in another country I will relax my vegan life A LITTLE. Still no meat and I will not be drinking milk or eating ice cream, but I will be ok with cheese and will not worry about milk and eggs as ingredients in food I eat. As soon as I am back home I will return to my super vegan life but I am more worried about living life here and not stressing about eating!

Ok back to my travels. We ate lunch in the square, Italian again. We seem to eat a lot of Italian here. After that we walked to the old bridge and shoot a few photos.

Then made the huge trek up hill to the castle. Broke a bit of a sweet today! The castle is very beautiful and has a perfect view of the city.

We are now taking a break from the "heat" and resting our feet. I am doing some much need laundry. Germany is playing Denmark tonight so we will head out to cheer them on and of course have a few beers!

Tonight was amazing! We sat outside a bar and watched the game (germany won!!!!). We sat next to a really nice guy who is half German half English. We spend the first part of the night discussing the differences between America and Germany. It was a really educational conversation. Afterwards Celeste and I and the German headed off to have a few drinks and see the town. What a great and random connection with a wonderful person!

Where we watched the game!

Our new friend.

What a wonderful day!!

Good night and thanks for reading!

Trier is beautiful

GOOD MORNING! This is what happens when I wash my hair at night.

Today we got up really early and headed to Trier. It took a little over 2hrs on the train to get here. It rained the whole morning while on the bus and when we got there as well. We took a taxi to our hotel because it happens to be very far away from city center. After we got there we were informed that our room was not ready yet. They held our big bags for us and we set off to find a giant play park I found online. We took the bus back to city center and then walked off into the forest.

We thought we would never find the playground and then around the corner..... We found a different on that was right in the middle of the forest.

What luck we have. After we took some photos we headed of on a path. It breached off to go deeper in the wood or up into a little suburb. I thought I would run up and just see what it looked like and over the top of the hill was this futuristic town with what do you know a full park full of play areas!!!!!

What a great start to the day! Now we are waiting for the bus to head down to town to see the sights.
Well we ended up having to wait like 45 in the cold for the bus and then it was going the wrong way so it ended up taking us a total of 1.5hrs to get back to town. Oh well at least the bus was warm. Once we got down town it started to rain so we did a quick walk around to see all the sights or trier. It is a beautiful and small town nestled in the valley of two small mountains. Very green and very wet!
We saw old churches and ancient buildings influenced by the Romans. After about an hour of walking it really started to pour and we walked another 15min in the rain to the bus and headed home. Here is a taste of what we saw in the city.

Now we are home recuperating from our full day of walking in the rain! Going to grab a bite to eat and maybe a beer and then sleepy time! I am really tired. Last night there was yelling in the street all night, so I probably only slept about 2hrs.

Night night and thanks for reading!
